012-Brooch Oxwich Type

The brooch is cast in brass and finished entirely by hand. The needle also has been hardened brass hammer. The external dimensions are 4 cm in diameter, while the inner diameter is 2.2 cm. Period thirteenth century.

The brooch is decorated with stones actually molten glass, in imitation of sapphires and rubies,

It 'was designed in the style of a brooch which is in the National Museum of Wales 1250-1320 and dated -40. Many of these brooches were in use in Europe with the forms and combinations of stones and pearls.
